The book, "Lake and Groundwater: Phytoremedial Aspect" is an out come of the direct field work done in Gorakhpur, a prominent city of India. Being a tropical city, the district Gorakhpur is also among the wet-land belts of India, locally called as Tarai Belt. As a result the water table is higher and also the city is rich in large water bodies. The field study consisted of the survey and analysis of groundwater and the quality analysis of the water in Rangarh lake, a prominent water body in the heart of the city. The macrophytic diversity of the lake has also been evaluated. Finally, the polluted water of the lake as well as that of the groundwater was subjected to phytoremediation. The findings have been documented by the means of thirteen chapters. The book is useful tool for all the scientists, research scholars and the field workers who are directly or indirectly involved in the field research regarding the water pollution and its remediation and also for those who are involved in the study of lentic system biodiversity.
