The present study reveals a part of the systemic annotation which includes the use of a proteomic tool with PEG mediated fractionation of plant proteome proteins for characterizing the explant(s) in order to study functional genomic approaches in tissue culture based sugarcane improvement programme. Stem segments derived in vitro propagated sugarcane leaves were used, for selection of salt tolerant callus lines and also for proteomic analysis.
