Entertaining as this may be it is largely fiction. Frey concocted this fairy tale of half-truths and outright lies with masterful skill. A movie is on the way and having duped Oprah's book club he is set for riches beyond most people's dreams. Oprah did find out about the hoax eventually and forced him to apologize on her show but that will not dampen Frey's success. It is worrisome that so many people find these lies inspirational and encourage future hucksters to do the same by spending their hard-earned cash on this novel. One cannot believe everything on TV and now even books sold as non-fiction are suspect until sceptically appraised. Frey is laughing all the way to the bank - do you really want to make him laugh harder? If so then buy this book.
